Federation President Attends Rural Damascus Tourism Chamber General Assembly

Mr. Mourhaf Nazha, President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Tourism, attended the General Assembly meeting of the Rural Damascus Tourism Chamber, held on Wednesday, 22 April 2026 at Afamia Victoria Hotel in Damascus. Attendees included representatives from the Ministry of Tourism, the Rural Damascus tourism directorate, federation leadership, the chamber president and vice president, and members of the chamber office and board. The financial reports for 2024-2025 were approved after being read by the auditor and discussed by participants, and the previous board was discharged of liability. Members raised questions and requests focused on activating hotels in Sayyida Zaynab, worker insurance, lodging and catering prices, financial dues and taxes, unlicensed tourism offices, and unregulated Umrah contracts. All participants affirmed the need to develop the tourism sector and overcome obstacles in the public interest. The meeting concluded at 2:30 p.m. on the same day.
